CALL FOR ABSTRACTS & ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Organising Committee is pleased to invite you to submit an abstract to be considered for the 4th SIAP Conference 2020. We welcome the submission of original contributions for oral and poster presentations on the following topics and their related areas:
- 1A. Water and Wastewater Management
- 1B. Water in Food Security
- 2A. Water in Manufacturing Industries
- 2B. Water Issues in Health and Tourism

Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Abstract must be written in English and not exceed 250 words.
- Abstract must be single-spaced, in Times New Roman (font size 12).
- Abstract must be submitted in Microsoft Word .doc/.docx format.
- Abstract must consist of a title (capitalized, bold), full name of author(s) (capitalized), affiliation of author(s), and body of abstract.
- Presenting author’s name should be written in bold.
- Corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*) and the email provided (font size 11)
- Abstract must provide up to 5 keywords.
- Similar abstract cannot be submitted by different participants.
- Abstract should be uploaded into the Google link during online registration.
- Each participant is limited to ONE abstract submission as the presenting author but may co-author other papers.
- Title of uploaded abstract file should be labeled by name of participant, for example ‘ChanYeeYee_AbstractSIAP2020.doc’
- All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the SIAP2020 Scientific Committee.
- The SIAP2020 Scientific Committee also reserves the right to reassign the theme of the submitted abstract to a different theme if deemed necessary.

Important notes
- Authors of accepted abstracts MUST be registered delegates.
- It is the author’s responsibility to submit an edited and accurate abstract. Error in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced exactly as typed by the author and the SIAP2020 Organising Committee cannot be held liable.
- Abstract will be rejected if it contains no relevant data or if it is written in incomprehensible English.
- Receipt of abstract submission will be acknowledged upon online submission.
- All Presenting Authors will receive detailed presentation guidelines 2 weeks prior to the SIAP2020 Conference using the email provided in the online registration form.
Programme features
Submitted abstracts will be considered for oral or poster presentations.
Oral Presentations
- Duration of oral presentation should be kept to 15 minutes (12 minutes for presentation + 3 minutes for Q&A).
- Oral presenters should email presentation slides to the Scientific Committee ([email protected]) latest by 20 March 2020.
Posters
- Posters will be displayed throughout the conference day.
- Poster submitted shall be in ‘Portrait’ orientation, with the following dimension: 84.1 cm width x 118.9 cm height (A1 size).
- Poster boards will be velcro-compatible and mounting materials will be provided.
- A list of poster ID will be available on the conference day for references.
Abstract Revisions
Changes to abstracts are accepted only until the submission deadline, which is 6 March 2020, subsequent to which, no changes or revisions will be allowed.
Publication of Abstracts
- Accepted abstracts will be made available in the SIAP2020 e-abstract booklet on the Conference website closer to the conference date.
- In the event that the Presenting Author is absent on the conference day, the abstract will not be published.
Registration and Payment
- The Presenting Author must register for the Conference as a participant and complete payment of the registration fee before 10 MARCH 2020.
- Abstract will be automatically withdrawn if the Presenting Author has not completed their registration and payment.
- Payment and attendance to the SIAP2020 conference are both compulsory for abstract publication.
