Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon, Chairman, Royal Selangor International Sdn Bhd

Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon is Chairman of Royal Selangor International Sdn Bhd, manufacturer and exporter of pewter products.

He graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering in 1968.

For over four decades, Tan Sri Yong has been associated closely with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), and is currently its Immediate Past President.

Tan Sri Yong has served as a Board member of Bank Negara Malaysia and as a founding Commissioner of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

In 2007, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to be the Co-Chair together with the Chief Secretary of Malaysia, of PEMUDAH the Task Force to Facilitate Business until he stepped down in September 2013.

Tan Sri Yong sits on the boards of Nestle Bhd , RAM Holdings Bhd and the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research.

Tan Sri Yong is also a member of the Economic Council chaired weekly by the Prime Minister. He is also part of MITI's panel of Trusted Advisors on the TPPA.

He helped form YPO Malaysia, Malaysian Mensa and was a former Captain of RSGC and is its current President.
