Overview:

UCSI University mySENI National Painting Competition 2025 in collaboration with Voir Group and in conjunction with Malaysia Tourism Visit Malaysia 2026 ‘Truly Asia’

MySENI Painting Competition is back after a pause since the 2020 pandemic. This nationwide initiative aims to celebrate and inspire creativity among Malaysia’s youth through the visual arts. This year’s competition is elevated by its collaboration with Voir Group and alignment with Visit Malaysia 2026, making it a grand showcase of talent and culture.

Objective:

To identify and recognise young Malaysian students who demonstrate artistic excellence in Visual Arts.

Who are eligible to participate?

Participants must be Malaysian citizens currently studying in:

- Secondary school (Form 3 to Form 6 or Senior Middle 1 to 3 for Chinese schools)

- 2024 SPM/STPM graduates are also eligible.

Theme:

Malaysia Landscapes

Guidelines:

  • Artwork size: A2 (42cm x 59.4cm) in any art medium.
  • Multiple entries are allowed, but each participant is eligible for ONE prize only.
  • Each artwork must include an artist’s statement (not more than 30 words in English, Bahasa Melayu, or Chinese) describing their work.
  • Submissions must be original works by the participating artist.
  • Each entry requires a complete entry form.
  • Artists are encouraged to submit works completed within this year or the previous year.
  • All materials must be prepared by the artist.
  • Artworks must be approved by the school’s art teacher or principal.
  • Submitted artworks become the property of the organiser and are non-returnable.
  • Submission constitutes permission to use the winners’ names, likenesses and prize details for publicity purposes.

Assessment

A panel of judges will evaluate entries based on:

  • Originality of expression.
  • Creative use of materials
  • Overall presentation

The judges reserve the right to disqualify entries with reasonable doubts about authenticity.

Special feature

All 12 final winners’ artworks will be showcased in the Voir Group 2026 calendar, distributed in 10,000 copies across Malaysia, with winners' names and schools highlighted.

Late submissions will not be accepted. Proof of mailing (with postmark) is required. The organisers are not liable for any damage or loss to the artwork.

  • All winners will be announced on the same day.
  • All necessary travel expenses to attend the exhibition will be borne by the participating artist.
