Before The Ceremony
  1. It is compulsory to CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE by completing the Reply Slip :, together with your payment, no later than 9th August 2018 at FOTOREX. Confirmation attendance via email and telephone will not be processed.
  2. Admission into the ceremonial hall is strictly by presentation of the invitation cards.
    Live feed of the graduation ceremony is available at the Auditorium.
  3. The convocation briefing session shall be conducted on 17th August 2018 at 10:00am to 10:30am, at Dewan Tan Sri Ahmad Razali (DeTSAR), Level 5, Block C, Kuala Lumpur Campus, UCSI University
  4. The invitation cards and graduation attire will be provided on 11th August 2018 (Saturday) and 17th August 2018 (Friday) at the Level 5, Block B, KL Campus, UCSI University. Please note that mortar board are provided to Master’s and Bachelor’s degree holders only. Please contact us at 603-91018880 ext 3010 to arrange for a Tracer Study briefing before you proceed to FOTOREX for gown collection.

  5. Graduands are to complete the online survey and present the online survey slip during the gown collection. Graduands are expected to complete the survey at UCSI University and collect your gown on the same day, 11th August 2018 (Saturday) and 17th August 2018 (Friday) during the Homecoming Celebration.
Prior to Commencement of the Ceremony
  1. Parking

    Due to a large number of graduands, three (3) sessions will be conducted.
    • 18th August 2018 Morning session : 7:30am – 12:30pm
    • 18th August 2018 Afternoon session : 1:30pm – 6:30pm
    • 19th August 2018 Morning session : 7.30am – 12.30pm

    Note: Late arrival shall be denied entry into the hall.

    Due to limited parking in the campus, graduands and guests are strongly encouraged to park at public parking at commercial business shop lots in the vicinity of UCSI University

    Between the morning & afternoon sessions, traffic congestion is highly expected and unavoidable.

    Graduands and guests of the afternoon session are strongly advised to park at the Giant Hypermarket Carpark and walk to the event venue to avoid traffic congestion.
  2. The graduation ceremony will be held at Dewan Tan Sri Ahmad Razali (DeTSAR), Level 5, Block C, Kuala Lumpur Campus, UCSI University.
  3. Arrival of graduands

    On the day of the ceremony, graduands are required to assemble at the allocated registration room at Level 2 (as directed) at Block C at:
    • 7.30am (for morning session); and
    • 1.30pm (for afternoon session)

  4. Dress Codes

    • Graduands: Formal Attire
      • Male: Long sleeve button shirt with trousers/slacks and tie
      • Female: Blouse/shirt with knee length skirt/pants or knee length dress

    • Guests: Formal attire - Strictly NO T-shirts, jeans, sandals or slippers.

  5. Guest Admission into the ceremonial hall

    Please remind your guests to bring along their invitation cards to the Convocation as entry into the hall will be by presentation of invitation cards. Guests without an invitation card will be denied admission into ceremonial hall. However, the guests may view the ceremony through live feed at the Auditorium.

    As the proceedings are formal in nature, children under the age of twelve (12) are regrettably not permitted to enter the ceremonial hall.
During The Ceremony
  1. Presentation of awards

    • Ensure you have your graduation name card ready (your name cards will be distributed upon registration on convocation day)
    • Present the card to the Name Reader prior going on stage
    • Walk a few steps and doff your mortarboard (i.e. touch the mortarboard)
    • Shake hands with the Chancellor and receive your scroll
    • Walk down the steps to return to your seat, following the prescribed route.

    To show respect to all fellow graduands and the ceremony, you are to remain seated in the graduand area once the ceremony has begun, except when you are presented to the Chancellor.
  2. Discipline during the ceremony

    Please do not leave your seat during the ceremony except when called upon to receive your scroll. Please ensure that you use the restroom before the procession into the ceremonial hall. You are also expected to have taken the appropriate meals before the ceremony.

    As graduation ceremonies are momentous occasions for everyone, movement in the ceremonial hall is restricted to ensure that the ceremony is conducted smoothly and with decorum. Guests are prohibited to leave their seats to take photographs during the ceremony. Guests who leave the ceremony hall during the ceremony will not be permitted to re-enter until a suitable break in the programme has been reached.
After The Ceremony
  1. Graduands and guests are required to leave the hall immediately once the ceremony ends, and proceed to refreshment area in Block G.
    The ceremonial hall shall be closed for housekeeping and preparation for the following session.
  2. Photography (Optional)

    UCSI University’s appointed Convocation photographer also provides OPTIONAL photography packages such as
    • Individual/ family portrait photograph session
    • Other convocation photographs in various sizes (i.e. individual portrait, group photos, stage photos, and etc).

    The costs of the optional packages will be borne by the graduand.

    If you intend to take up any available studio packages, you are encouraged to take the photograph before / after the ceremony at FOTOREX. Please note that the individual / family portrait photograph session is prohibited during the Convocation Ceremony. Your name will not be repeated if you have missed your turn in the proceeding.

    There will be several mini studios set up by the photographers during convocation day at
    • Level G, Block G
    This is subject to change. You are advised to seek information nearer to the event day.
